Williams became the first women’s swimmer to be inducted into the Cal State East Bay Athletic Hall of Fame. In her freshman year at Cal State Hayward, Williams captured three conference titles and earned All American honors in the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke. During her sophomore campaign, Williams was an All-American in the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke. For the third straight year Williams was an All-American in the 50, 100, and 200 breast and also received national recognition in the 200 and 400 medley relays. During her senior year, Williams set the conference record in the 100 breaststroke and was named Cal State Hayward’s team captain and most valuable swimmer.
