Pioneer Athletics Hall of Fame
One of the greatest coaches in Cal State Hayward history, Davis guided the Pioneer football team to back-to-back Far Western Conference Championships in 1969-70. During the 1969 season, Davis led the Pioneers to their best showing in school history with a 9-1 overall record and a perfect 5-0 in FWC play. One of the Pioneers’ seven victories during the 1970 campaign was a 20-6 win over Southern University in a game played at the Oakland Coliseum. Davis coached Pioneer Athletic Hall of Famers Bernie Oliver, Bert Castellanelli, Rusty Anderson, Monty Consani, and Don Sawyer.
