Pioneer Athletics Hall of Fame
Bayless was a three time All-American in the 400 meters. He finished third in the 1971 and 1972 Nationals in the 400. Bayless holds the school record for the 400 Meters with a time of 46.1, and led his team to the Far Western Conference Championship and an eighth place finish at the 1971 Division II Men’s Track and Field Championships. He also holds the school record for the half mile (1:51.0). Bayless also ran a leg on the Pioneer 4 x 100 Meter Relay Team that broke a school record with a time of 40.6 in 1972.
