Monty Consani was one of the most outstanding football linemen to ever play at CSUH. Bob Rodrigo, who coached Monty during his three year career, had this to say of him, “From a physical standpoint and the knowledge of the game, Monty was just awesome. On and off the field, he was one of the finest people I have ever worked with.” He was a key performer on the undefeated 1969 Far Western Conference Championship football team as well as the 1970 FWC championship squad. In both years, Monty was selected Far Western Conference All-League team as an offensive guard. Monty concluded a brilliant three-year career with the 1971 Cal State Hayward football team which finished third in the Far Western Conference. He was selected to the 1971 Far Western Conference team as an offensive guard. Monty was also selected to the 1971 Coaches, Little All-American team as an offensive lineman.
