Cal State East Bay Head Coach Shane Pelton and assistant coach Erin Sanchez have been named the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference (PCSC) Coaching Staff of the Year following a historic 2025–26 season for the Pioneer program.

In his ninth year at the helm, Pelton, alongside Sanchez, guided the Pioneers to the PCSC Swimming & Diving Championship title, marking a major milestone for the program. East Bay carried that momentum to the national stage, earning an 18th-place finish at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.

Since taking over the program in 2016, Pelton has steadily built a competitive and nationally recognized team, with Sanchez playing a key role in the program's continued growth and success. This year's accomplishments reflect the culture and standard the coaching staff has established in the pool.
