Evansville, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay women's swimming program closed out an impressive week at the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships with several strong efforts on the final day at the Deaconess Aquatic Center. The Pioneers secured their third-best team finish since the 2017–18 season and claimed another All-American performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Freshman distance swimmer
Maggie Clemens delivered one of the team's top performances of the evening in the grueling 1650-yard freestyle, finishing 18th overall with a time of 17:10.41. Clemens maintained a steady pace throughout the 66-length race, holding consistent splits across the middle portion before closing strong over the final 200 yards to cap her first national championship appearance.
In the 100-yard freestyle, junior standout
Tehani Kong represented East Bay in the morning preliminaries, touching in 51.97 to place 38th overall in a deep national field. Kong, who already earned All-American honors earlier in the meet, continued to contribute to the Pioneers' strong overall showing during the championship week.
Senior
Kylie Beaudet also competed for the Pioneers in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing 35th in preliminaries with a time of 2:21.12. The senior closed out her collegiate career at the national championships after earlier earning Second Team All-American honors during the meet.
Freshman
Malana Kollath joined Clemens in the 1650-yard freestyle, posting a 26th-place finish in 17:29.69.
The Pioneers also wrapped up the meet in the 400-yard freestyle relay, where the team of

Malana Kollath,
Maggie Clemens, and
Kylie Beaudet finished 16th overall with a time of 3:32.31, earning two team points. Fajardo led off the relay with a 52.27 split before Kollath and Clemens delivered strong middle legs to keep East Bay in the race. Beaudet anchored the relay in 53.04, helping the Pioneers close out the championships with another scoring performance.
With multiple All-America performances and several additional national qualifiers competing throughout the week, Cal State East Bay wrapped up the championships with one of the program's strongest finishes in recent years. The Pioneers' results at the 2026 NCAA Championships mark the program's third-best finish since the 2017–18 season.
