Cal State East Bay continued its strong showing at the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on Day 2 at the Deaconess Aquatic Center, highlighted by a First Team All-American performance from junior
Tehani Kong and a Second Team All-American finish from senior
Kylie Beaudet.

Kong delivered one of the top swims in program history in the 100-yard butterfly, earning a spot in the championship final after posting the third-fastest time in the morning preliminaries with a mark of 53.90. The junior returned in the evening session and finished sixth in the nation with a time of 54.20, earning First Team All-American honors and scoring 13 points for the Pioneers. Kong's performance kept East Bay firmly in the national team standings while continuing her impressive postseason run.

Beaudet also earned All-America recognition in the 400-yard individual medley, advancing to the consolation final after placing 13th in the preliminaries with a time of 4:24.96. The senior improved in the evening session, touching the wall in 4:23.65 to finish 13th overall, securing Second Team All-American honors and adding four points to the Pioneer team total.

East Bay also saw another strong performance in the 100 butterfly from sophomore
Alexia Fajardo, who placed 19th overall in preliminaries with a time of 55.36, narrowly missing a spot in the evening finals in a highly competitive field.

The Pioneers closed the day competing in the 400-yard medley relay, where the team of Kong, Beaudet, Fajardo, and freshman
Malana Kollath finished in 3:51.87 against the nation's top relay squads.

Through 19 events, Cal State East Bay sits tied for 17th place in the team standings with 22 points, powered by Kong's First Team All-American finish and Beaudet's Second Team All-American performance.

The NCAA Division II Championships continue through Saturday as the Pioneers look to build on their momentum and add more national honors in the pool.
