Pioneers Place Four on All-CCAA Teams

A strong showing on the postseason awards list highlighted Cal State East Bay softball's 2026 campaign, as the Pioneers placed four student-athletes on the All-CCAA teams. Marissa Quintero earned First Team honors and was named CCAA Pitcher of the Year, while Cynthia Carrillo also garnered First Team recognition. Jeslyn Cuellar and Rylee Gomez were both named to the Second Team.

Quintero, a junior right-hander, once again established herself as one of the top pitchers in the CCAA, earning Pitcher of the Year honors for the second consecutive season. She led the Pioneers with 25 wins and logged nearly 200 innings in the circle, consistently giving East Bay a chance to win every time she took the ball. Over the course of the season, she limited opposing hitters to a .174 average while recording 124 strikeouts and finishing with a 1.15 ERA. She also earned CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors five times during the year.

Carrillo, a senior outfielder, was a consistent presence in the lineup as Cal State East Bay went 38-14 overall and 20-12 in conference play. She hit .336 across 51 games, recording 48 hits, including 13 doubles, while driving in 24 runs and scoring 23 times. She posted a .448 slugging percentage and a .395 on-base percentage, while also excelling defensively with a .989 fielding percentage.

Cuellar, a senior infielder, led the Pioneers offensively with a team-best .380 batting average. She totaled 68 hits, including 14 doubles, seven triples and five home runs, while driving in 25 runs and scoring a team-high 48 runs. Cuellar also posted a .620 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage, establishing herself as one of the top hitters in the conference.

Gomez, a junior infielder, was another key contributor at the plate, batting .379 with 67 hits, including 19 doubles and two home runs. She drove in 30 runs while recording a .531 slugging percentage and a .434 on-base percentage, providing consistency and production throughout the lineup.
