Cal State East Bay baseball junior pitcher Gabe Tanner has been named Pioneer of the Month for his performances during April 2024. 

During the month, Tanner went 3-1 with 31.2 innings on the mound, allowing 10 earned runs while striking out 20 batters faced. Perhaps his best performance in April was against Cal State Dominguez Hills where he pitched 8.1 innings allowing no runs as the Pioneers would shut out the Toros, 3-1. In that game, Tanner had a season-high eight strikeouts. 

Tanner would eventually be named All-CCAA First Team following the 2024 season.
