OVERVIEW

For the second consecutive week, Cal State East Bay will play five CCAA games in seven days. On Tuesday, the Pioneers will take on San Francisco State in a make up game then travel to Southern California for a four-game CCAA series against Cal State San Marcos.

With Tuesday's matchup as a make up game, SF State leads the season series 2-1. 

The Pioneers and CSUSM are even at 5-5 in the last 10 matchups between the two teams. 

The Pioneers won their four game series against Cal State Los Angeles 3-1 in Hayward last weekend and currently are tied for fifth in the CCAA standings with Cal Poly Pomona. Going into Tuesday, CSUEB and the Broncos are each 2 1/2 games ahead of Cal State Dominguez Hills for the final spot in the CCAA Tournament. 

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Luke Novitske
The sophomore from Pleasanton, California is third on the team in batting average (.325) and tied for first in hits (50).
 
Essex Brown Jr.
The senior from Sacramento, California leads the CCAA in stolen bases (25) and stolen bases per game (.62). He has a career 58 stolen bases in just two seasons with CSUEB. 
 
Gabe Tanner
The sophomore from Danville, California leads the CCAA in strikeouts per nine innings (10.96) and is second in total strikeouts (67).
