Cal State East Bay returns home for their final CCAA series of the regular season as they take on Chico State at Pioneer Baseball Field. The Pioneers lost their last series 3-1 against Cal State San Bernardino while the Wildcats lost their series 3-1 against No. 14 Cal State Monterey Bay in Chico.

Essex Brown Jr. – The junior from Sacramento, California iwent 7-for-16 last weekend and set the Pioneers' single season record for stolen bases in the last series against Cal State San Bernardino.

Blake Campbell – The senior from Thousand Oaks, California is third on the Pioneers in ERA (4.01) and has a 4-0 record in 15 appearances.

Samuel Esparza – The senior from San Pablo, California is averaging .252 on the season and is sixth on the team in RBIs with 10.

Last Series

On Friday, the Coyotes scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning as the Pioneers fell 6-4. On Saturday, in game one, the two teams combined for 29 hits but the Coyotes won the game 15-9. In game two, the Pioneers won 6-4. In game four of the series on Sunday, the Pioneers fell 6-3. Francisco Pedraza had five home runs in the series with seven RBIs.

The Pioneers and Sonoma State are tied in the conference standings for the final playoff spot in the CCAA Baseball Championship. The Seawolves host on Cal State San Bernardino in Rohnert Park this weekend.
