Overview

Cal State East Bay returns home for a four game CCAA series against CSU San Marcos. The Pioneers split their four game series against Stanislaus State last weekend in Turlock while the Cougars lost three of four game in their series against No. 21 CSU Monterey Bay.

History

The Pioneers have won five out of the last nine in the series defeating back to 2017.

Last Series

On Friday, the Pioneers scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning but it was not enough as the Warriors plated four runs between the eighth and ninth innings for the 8-7 victory in the series opener. On Saturday, the Pioneers split the doubleheader losing the first game 2-1 but took the second game 3-2 in eight innings. On Sunday, the Pioneers' bats came alive scoring 18 runs in an 18-8 victory.

The Pioneers trail San Francisco State by a .025 winning percentage for the final playoff spot in the CCAA Baseball Championship. No. 13 Chico State had its lead shrink to .033 over CSU Monterey Bay for the top spot in the conference standings. The Wildcats will host CSU Dominguez Hills in Chico.
