DAY 3 RESULTS
ST. GEORGE, Utah — Freshman
Delaney Carlson earned conference titles in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, as the Cal State East Bay swimming team maintained second place through Day 3 of the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference (PCSC) Championships.
The Pioneers have amassed 964 points with one day remaining, as they trail Pepperdine with 1,147.5 points. Azusa Pacific is currently third with 666.5 points.
A native of Missoula, Mont., Carlson posted a 50 freestyle time of 23.73-seconds, which is second fastest in program history. Carlson also became the first Pioneer to win the PCSC crown in the 50 free. She edged out freshman teammate
Brooklyn Dressel, who finished in second place in the event with a time of 23.88.
Allie Klinger still holds the program record in the 50 free with a time of 23.29 at the 2020 PCSC Championships.
Carlson also finished first in the 100 breaststroke behind a time of (1:04.04), and was part of the Pioneers' first-place 400 medley relay team along with Dressel, senior
Alondra Ortiz and freshman
Emma Knott to post a time of 3:48.58. Knott also placed second in the 100 butterfly (56.71), Ortiz took third in the 100 backstroke (57.19) and
Jacqueline Feurtado was third in the 200 free (1:52.45).
The fourth and final day of the 2022 PCSC Championships is Saturday, Feb. 19, with action beginning at 9:30 a.m.
