ST. GEORGE, Utah — The Cal State East Bay swim team earned impressive results on the first day of the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference (PCSC) Championships on Wednesday evening at Dixie State University.
Senior
Peyton Wayment won the conference title in the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 10-minutes, 31.28-seconds, out-pacing the second-place finisher by over three seconds. A native of Littleton, Colo., Wayment placed third in the event in the conference championships two years ago in 2020.

Maddie Wittkowske and senior
Isabel Rishwain took first for the PCSC title behind a time of 7:31.32. The unit is now ranked No. 11 in all of Division 2, as Wittkowske and Rishwain were members of the East Bay team that finished second in the same event in 2020.

Emma Knott and freshman
Delaney Carlson took second place behind a time of 1:44.71.
In time trials to cap off the night, Ortiz recorded an NCAA B-cut in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:02.81, while Carlson (52.00) and freshman
Brooklyn Dressel (51.30) also both had NCAA B-cuts in the 100 freestyle.
East Bay resumes action on Thursday morning, starting with the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay.
