HAYWARD, Calif. — Cal State East Bay senior Alondra Ortiz has been named Pacific Collegiate Swim and Diving Conference (PCSC) Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. 

It is Ortiz's first weekly honor of the season, and the first for Cal State East Bay.

A native of Irvine, Ortiz secured three top finishes for the Pioneers in last weekend's victory over Pepperdine, 196-66. Ortiz placed first in the 100 Back (59.01) and 200 Back (2:07.72) individual events, both of which are top times in the PCSC. Her time for 200 Back is ranks top 20 in all of Division II.

Ortiz also was part of the winning 400 Medley Relay team, splitting with a time of 59.21. 

CSUEB returns to action this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 23, against Nevada.
