HAYWARD, Calif., -- After celebrating their 2020 Alumni Weekend last week, the Pioneer baseball team will return to the diamond for a full slate of road games this week.
The Pioneers will make the short drive to Alameda for a midweek matchup against Holy Names on Tuesday evening, February 11 at the College of Alameda Baseball Field. East Bay will then open California Collegiate Athletic Association play with a four game series against Cal State San Bernardino February 14-16 at Fiscalini Field.
East Bay is off to a 3-0 start in 2020 after sweeping their season opening series against Menlo College. Senior outfielder
Ryan McSwain was named CSUEB Athlete of the Week after his performance against the Oaks.
PIONEER POINTS

- McSwain is batting .364 and leads the team with six runs scored to go with five RBI.
- Newcome AJ Curtis has hit the Pios lone triple of the season and is 23rd in the league with a .417 batting average.
- Brian Martinez, Mark Woinarowicz and Ransome Alexander have all racked up wins on the mound for the Pioneers.
- Martinez has five strikeouts on the season with a 2.25 ERA through 4.0 innings tossed.
- Woinarowicz has compiled two strikeouts with a 0.00 ERA.
- Alexander has tallied four strikeouts through 4.0 innings of action with a 2.25 ERA.
- Ethan Brodsky leads the Pioneers with six strikeouts, including four strikeouts looking.
SCOUTING HOLY NAMES
The Holy Names Hawks are off to a 5-3 start to the season after splitting their series against Saint Martin's 2-2 last weekend. Joshua Nelson leads the Hawks with a 12 hits, including four doubles with eight runs scored, 11 RBI and a .375 batting average. Ricardo Hernandez, Jr. leads Holy Names with 15 strikeouts through 12.0 innings pitched.
SCOUTING CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO
The Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes are currently 3-3 on the season after splitting their two game series against Biola last week. Andrew Talkington leads CSU San Bernardino with six hits and five runs to go along with three RBI and a .462 batting average. Tyler Penix leads the Coyotes with leads the CCAA with 14 strikeouts through 10.0 innings pitched.
