POMONA, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay baseball team snapped their 10-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos on Saturday, March 30 at Scolinos Field.

With the back-to-back victories, East Bay moves to 11-17 on the season with a 8-14 mark in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action.

The Pioneers opened the afternoon with a 7-3 road win behind stellar offensive and strong pitching by committee. The Pioneers kept pressure on the Broncos all game long as they scored runs in six of the nine innings.

Senior
Adam Hollar (Livermore, Calif.) turned in another impact performance as he notched consecutive 4-for-5 outing from the plate. Hollar added a run and an RBI for East Bay.
Ryan McSwain (Redwood City, Calif.) also compiled a great game as he knocked a solo homer over the left center field wall in the third innings to give the Pioneers a lead they would never relinquish. McSwain now has two home runs on the season as he finished the game with two hits, including a triple, two runs scored and a RBI.

Senior
Steve Robinson and junior
Ryan Thomasy (Redding, Calif.) both compiled three hits apiece for East Bay. Two of Robinson's hits went for doubles with one scoring a run in the ninth inning to give him an RBI. He also scored in the fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie. Thomasy scored three runs and added an RBI in the fifth inning.

Dakota Conners (Manteca, Calif.) added two hits, including an RBI single to right field in the fifth inning.
Omar Sanchez (Winton, Calif.) lone hit of the ball game was an RBI double to to center field.
Robert Lujan's (Reno, Nev.) RBI in the second inning was East Bay's first run of the game.

Senior
Jordan Milligan (W, 1-1) (San Jose, Calif.) collected his first win of the season after coming into the fourth inning and only allowing one hit with one strikeout.
Jacob Nelson (Jefferson, Wisc.) got the start on the mound and gave up two earned runs and retired one batters through three innings of work.
Blake Corsentino (Ventura, Calif.) tossed two innings for East Bay and logged one strikeout.
Mark Woinarowicz (S, 4) (Yorba Linda, Calif.) notched his fourth save of the season after finishing the final three innings of the game for CSUEB and not allowing any runs with two strike outs.

In the doubleheader finale, the Pioneers continued to score early and often as they won the game 5-2 behind a complete game from junior pitcher
Brian Martinez (W, 3-2) (Livermore, Calif.). For Martinez it was his team-leading second complete game of the season as he finished the ballgame with two strikeouts and one earned run.

Seniors
Adam Hollar and
Matt Cantelme (Fair Oaks, Calif.) both turned in multi-hit outings for the Pioneers. Hollar went 2-for-3 during the game and scored two runs scored. Both of Cantelme's hits went for RBIs including a two-run single in the second inning and an RBI double to right center in the fourth innings. Cantelme ended the game with three total RBI.
Ryan McSwain logged East Bay's first hit of the ballgame and scored the first run of the game while senior
Kyosuke Ushimaru (Tokyo, Japan) also registered a hit to open the bottom of the fourth inning and scored later that inning to give the Pioneers a 5-1 lead.
