CHICO, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay women's track and field team finished the 2017 season this weekend at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships, held at Chico State's University Stadium. The Pioneers finished 10th in the team standings.
Sarah Perrin scored the team's three points to cap off her four-year career. The senior distance runner posted her highest ever individual finish at the championship meet, putting a stamp on the best track season of her career.
Perrin qualified seventh on Friday in the 1500 meters in 4:48.71, then ran more than a second faster to place sixth in Saturday's finals with a time of 4:47.42. Fellow senior
Kandace Compton also qualified for the finals, grabbing the final spot with a time of 5:04.02. She finished 10th in the championship race.
Katherine Embody took 17th place overall in Friday's prelims, posting a time of 5:08.34.
Cecilia Carretero led the way for the Pioneers in the 5,000 meters, placing 18th out of 30 on Saturday with a time of 18:54.79.
Megan Satterfield took 26th in the race in 19:55.53.
Dana Pollard represented East Bay in the 10,000 meters and placed 13th in the conference, completing 25 laps in 40:31.99.
