AZUSA – Cal State East Bay's women's track and field team was highlighted by a first-place finish and strong distance performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Caitlin Alexis delivered the top result for the Pioneers, winning the javelin with a throw of 41.20 meters. Savannah Garcia also competed in the event, recording a mark of 34.11 meters.
In the horizontal jumps, Julia Carmona placed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 5.63 meters.
East Bay also saw a pair of solid efforts in the distance events, led by Angelique Martinez, who finished 10th in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:38.60. Madison Gomez followed in 15th, crossing the line in 17:44.19.
