EMPORIA, Kan. – Jenna Rodriguez concluded a historic 2026 outdoor season Friday afternoon by representing Cal State East Bay in the women's 800 meters at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Welch Stadium.
Competing against the nation's top middle-distance runners, the Pioneer senior recorded a time of 2:16.64 in the preliminary round of the women's 800m to cap an outstanding season for the Cal State East Bay women's track & field program.
Rodriguez qualified for the national meet following an impressive performance at the CCAA Championships earlier this month in San Marcos, where she finished runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.30. Earlier in the outdoor season, Rodriguez established a new Cal State East Bay school record in the women's 800 meters, cementing her place among the top middle-distance runners in program history.
Throughout the 2026 campaign, Rodriguez consistently delivered strong performances against some of the top competition in the conference and region while producing multiple personal-best efforts during her senior season. Her success throughout the spring culminated with an appearance on the national stage at the NCAA Championships.
Rodriguez closes her Pioneer career as the Cal State East Bay school-record holder in the women's 800 meters and an NCAA Championship qualifier after authoring one of the finest seasons by a Pioneer middle-distance athlete in recent program history.
