DAVIS, Calif. -- Five members of the Cal State East Bay women's track and field team competed on Saturday at UC Davis' Aggie Open with strong results in sprint and distance events.
Junior newcomer
Cecilia Carretero led a trio of Pioneers in the 3000m. She placed second with a photo finish and a time of 10:40.66, just one-tenth of a second behind Gracie Albano of Sacramento State for first place.

Dana Pollard took sixth place in the 3k, crossing the tape in 11:16.20. Freshman
Megan Satterfield turned in a time of 11:50.06 to finish 10th overall.
Sophomore
Imani Blincoe was the top Division II runner at the meet in the 200m. She won her heat and placed 11th overall with a time of 26.28, trailing only runners from UC Davis, Nevada, and Sacramento State. Fellow second-year runner
Jasmine Starks was close behind, taking third in her heat and 14th overall with a time of 26.43.
The Pioneer women will be back in action next weekend when they travel back to the Sacramento area to compete in Sac State's Hornet Invitational next Saturday, Mar. 18.
