TURLOCK, Calif.-- Junior
Kandace Compton finished second in a field of 31 in the 800m to highlight the action for Cal State East Bay at the Stanislaus State Kim Duyst Invitational Saturday.
Compton, in her first year at Cal State East Bay after transferring from American River College in Sacramento ran a 2:22.16.
Teammates
Oddessy Tapia and
Kelsey Lamb also finished in the top 10 in the 800. Tapia placed fifth with a time of 2:24.05. Lamb placed eighth and scored a 2:25.83.
Suzanne Bateson had a solid performance in the event, finishing 12th with a time of 2:28.23.
In the 100m dash,
Sydney Johnson and
Imani Blincoe finished tied for fifth with both breaking the tape at 13:44. Blincoe also participated in the 200 meters and registered a time of 28.41.
Ravyn Miller represented East Bay in the 400m and was timed at 1:03.42.
Imani Heath and
Taryn Stevenson competed in the 1500m distance event. Heath completed the race in 19:14.39 and Stevenson finished in 20:43.02.
East Bay's 4x100m relay team consisting of
Talia Cox,
Donnisha Brown, Blincoe, and Johnson took fifth and collected a time of 49.94.
Cal State East Bay next competes at Chico State Wildcat Invitational Saturday, March 12.
