Fresno State Invitational Men's Results
FRESNO, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay men's cross country team competed at the Fresno State Invitational on Friday morning, running the 6k course at Woodward Park.
The Pioneers placed seventh in the seven-team field, which included five Division I programs (Fresno State, Stanford, Cal Poly, San Jose, and Sacramento State) as well as CCAA rival Stanislaus State.Â
Freshman
Israel Sotelo was once again East Bay's top finisher, completing the 6k course in 19:55 to place 43rd out of 55 runners. Among Division II competitors, only Stanislaus's Uriel Carlos bested Sotelo's time.
Junior
Kyle Fetter and sophomore
Zach Kanlong took 49th and 50th place, finishing just a second apart in 20:40 and 20:41, respectively.
The final trio of Pioneers occupied the 52nd, 53rd, and 54th positions, and they all turned in solid early-season times. Freshman
Jesus Leon clocked in at 21:07, senior
Orlando Ramirez finished in 21:26, and freshman
Cameron Olson crossed the finish line in 21:42.
The East Bay men now have a week off before competing locally at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26.
