HAYWARD, Calif. — Cal State East Bay Athletics has named Lamona Lauhingoa, Jefferson Parada, Phillip Logan, Natalie Goumashyan, Cooper Groshart, Torrie Bowman, Kella Folkerts and Jaydah Godbolt its September 2026 Pioneers of the Month.
Selected by the head coaches of their respective sports, the eight honorees earned recognition for their contributions to their programs during September. From record-breaking races to standout performances on the court, course, pitch and in the pool, this month's recipients helped set the pace for Pioneer Athletics.
Lamona Lauhingoa | Volleyball
Lauhingoa made an immediate impact in the Pioneer offense, delivering multiple 20-kill performances. She recorded 22 kills and 12 digs in East Bay's comeback victory over Colorado School of Mines and added another 22-kill performance in a four-set win over Cal State LA. Her offensive production and contributions in the back row highlighted a strong start to her freshman season.
Jefferson Parada | Men's Soccer
Parada recorded three goals and one assist for seven points in September, converting all three of his penalty-kick attempts. His highlights included an 82nd-minute equalizer to secure a 1-1 draw at Chico State, goals against Dominican and Vanguard, and an assist in East Bay's 4-1 victory at Cal Poly Humboldt. His timely contributions helped the Pioneers open conference play with a draw and a win.
Phillip Logan | Men's Cross Country
Logan delivered a historic September, setting East Bay's school 8K record with a time of 24:17.7 at the Saint Mary's Invitational, improving the previous mark by 18 seconds. He followed that performance with an individual victory in the Chabot Twilight 3K, leading a Pioneer sweep of the top 15 finishing positions.
Natalie Goumashyan | Women's Cross Country
Goumashyan led the Pioneers at both the USF Invite and Saint Mary's Invitational. Her personal-best 6K time of 22:04.9 at Saint Mary's moved her into 12th on East Bay's all-time list, highlighting her progress and consistent presence at the front of the Pioneer lineup.
Cooper Groshart | Men's Golf
Groshart opened the fall with a standout performance at the Wildcat Classic, tying for fourth at 10-under-par 206 and helping East Bay finish tied for third as a team. He also shared the Pioneers' lowest three-round total at the DII Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya, continuing to anchor the East Bay lineup.
Torrie Bowman | Women's Golf
Bowman led or shared the team lead in both September tournaments. She tied for East Bay's top finish at the Women's Shootout at Estrella before leading the Pioneers at the DBU Classic with a three-round total of 236, providing consistency throughout the opening stretch of the fall season.
Kella Folkerts | Women's Soccer
Folkerts helped spark the Pioneer attack, scoring twice in East Bay's 4-2 victory over Dominican to secure the program's first win under head coach Jessica Clinton. The performance extended her scoring streak to three consecutive matches, with all four of her shots against Dominican landing on target.
Jaydah Godbolt | Women's Swimming
Godbolt made a strong impression early in her freshman season, earning Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference (PCSC) Freshman of the Week honors. Her success in dual-meet competition contributed to the Pioneers' team efforts and highlighted her immediate impact on the program. The conference recognition capped a promising September for the first-year swimmer.
