HAYWARD, Calif. -- The rain that was expected to hit Hayward Friday night finally came, washing out Saturday's scheduled baseball game between Cal State East Bay and visiting UC San Diego. The teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday, Mar. 30 starting at 12 p.m. to conclude their series.

The Pioneers (15-11, 9-9 CCAA) and Tritons (15-10, 11-7 CCAA) split Friday's doubleheader to open their four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association set, with the home team pulling out a 5-4 walk-off win in the opener, and the visitors pulling away for a 10-3 victory in the nightcap.

This marks the fourth time this season East Bay baseball has had a cancellation or postponement due to rain.
