HAYWARD, Calif. - The Pioneer baseball team will play San Francisco State in a four-game series May 4-6 to conclude the 2012 season. The series will open on May 4 with a single contest at San Francisco State beginning at 3:00 p.m. The two teams will play a doubleheader on May 5 at Pioneer Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. The series and the season for both teams will end on May 6 with an 11:00 a.m. game at San Francisco State. The Pioneers took three out of four games from the Gators in 2011.

“We would like to end the season on a winning note,” Pioneer coach Bob Ralston said. “San Francisco State is a good team.” “They've beaten Cal State L.A. three times, and recorded wins over Chico State, UC San Diego, Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino. It should be a good series.”

Prior to the start of the second game of the doubleheader on May 5, the Cal State East Bay baseball program will honor 11 seniors, playing their final game at Pioneer Field.  The 11 Pioneer seniors to be honored on May 5 include Alex Anicich, Brandyn Bell, Nolan Cassidy, Jake Davis, Xavier De La Cruz, A.J.
