HAYWARD, Calif. – The Pioneer baseball team will play at San Jose State in a non-conference game on March 6, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Cal State East Bay will resume CCAA play with a four game series against Cal State Stanislaus.
The two teams will play a single game on March 9 in Turlock at 2:00 p.m. On March 10, the two teams will play a doubleheader at Pioneer Field beginning at 11:00 a.m. The four-game series concludes with a single game on March 11 in Turlock. The first pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
Cal State East Bay is 2-6 in the CCAA and 7-10 overall. Four of the last five Pioneer games have been decided by one run.
Alex Anicich, who has started the last six games for the Pioneers, is hitting .417 with a .625 slugging percentage.
Eddie Rettagliata is hitting .346 with two home runs.
Andrew Woolfe, hitting .339 for the season, has a club-best three home runs and is tied for team honors with
Jordan Wilder with 11 RBI.
AJ Gallardo is 2-0 with an excellent ERA of 0.93 in 19.1 innings of work.
Ben O'Bryan is 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA and 11 strikeouts in four appearances on the mound. Byrce Miller, 1-2 with a 2.33 ERA, has a staff-best 34 strikeouts.
