HAYWARD, Calif. – The Pioneer baseball team will be back in action on March 23-25 with a four-game series at Chico State. A four-game series with Cal State Los Angeles was cancelled due to inclement weather over the weekend. The four-game series with Chico State will begin on March 23 with a 6:00 p.m. single contest. A doubleheader will be played on March 24. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The four-game series will conclude on March 25 with a single contest beginning at 11:00 a.m. Cal State East Bay split a four-game series with Chico State last season.
Cal State East Bay stands in 11th place in the CCAA with a 3-9 record. The Pioneers are 9-13 for the season. Cal State East Bay has been involved in 12 one-run games, posting a 5-7 record.
Eddie Rettagliata is tied for 26th overall in the CCAA with .324 batting average.
Andrew Woolfe, batting .316, is tied for 30th among all CCAA hitters. Woolfe leads the Pioneers with 16 runs scored and 24 hits. He reached base in 20 straight games earlier in the season.
Alex Anicich is tied for fourth in the CCAA with two triples.
Jordan Wilder is batting .266 for the season with a team-best 14 RBI. Lead- off hitter
Brett Hall has a .264 batting average with 14 runs scored and seven doubles.
AJ Gallardo, with a 3-0 record, tops all CCAA hurlers with a 0.68 ERA. In 26.1 innings of work, Gallardo has 17 strikeouts and two walks.
Ben O'Bryan is 1-1 with a 0.46 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work.
Bryce Miller is second among CCAA pitchers with 36 strikeouts. Miller has 31 strikeouts in his last four starts.
Chico State is in eighth place in the CCAA with 7-7 record. The Wildcats are 17-7 for the season. Chico State, which leads all CCAA teams with a .321 season batting average, is led by Myles Dempsey and Cody Foster. Dempsey is tied for fourth overall in the CCAA in hitting with a .373 batting average. Foster is eighth in hitting with a .353 average and is tied for CCAA honors with 23 RBI. Blake Gibbs has a CCAA best 26 runs scored.

Following the Chico State series, the Pioneers will play Cal State Monterey Bay in a four-game series on March 30-April 1.
