POMONA, Calif. - Brandyn Bell tossed a three-hit shutout as the Pioneer baseball team defeated Cal Poly Pomona 3-0 in the second game of a CCAA doubleheader on April 2. The Broncos won the first game, 14-1.
Bell, now 2-2 for the season, blanked Cal Poly Pomona, which scored 33 runs in the first two games of the series, on three hits and recorded six strikeouts. He faced 19 batters in seven innings of work.

Chris Houston drove in
Lincoln Clapper with a double as East Bay added another run in the fourth inning.
East Bay scored its final run in the seventh as
Jared Berrier came home on a Bronco error.
Clapper was 3-for-4 at the plate. Houston and Shields each had two hits.
In the first game, the Pioneers grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Clapper drove in
Charlie Sharrer with a base hit.
The Broncos tied the game in the bottom of the second.
Travis Taijeron hit a three-run home run to give Cal Poly Pomona a 4-1 lead after five innings.
Cal Poly Pomona scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Broncos' Jenzen Torres hit a three-run homer, his third round tripper of the series, in the eighth inning.
With the split, the Pioneers are 7-18 in CCAA play and 9-23 for the season. The Broncos stand at 12-11 in the CCAA and 18-11 overall.
The four-game series will conclude on April 3 with a single game at Cal Poly Pomona. The game will begin at 11:00 a.m.
