Smith raced into the Pioneer record books on Saturday in notching a 12th place individual finish out of more than 250 runners at the Santa Clara Bronco Open. The rookie posted a time of 25:03.8, which ranks as the third-fastest 8k in program history. He led the East Bay men's team to a strong fifth place finish out of 21 teams in their final tune-up before CCAA Championships.
