Senior Sara Hudyn dominated at the 2-meter position as the Cal State East Bay water polo team went 1-3 at the Triton Invitational in San Diego. Hudyn, who led the nation and set a school record with 109 goals last year, notched her second hat trick of the season in a loss to No. 5 UC Irvine in the tournament opener and accounted for three of the team's four goals. The Kirchener, Ontario native scored three more times in Saturday's afternoon contest, a loss at the hands of No. 15 UC Davis. On Sunday, Hudyn carried the Pioneers offensively as they picked up a victory in the weekend finale against Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) rival Sonoma State. She scored five goals in a 10-9 Pioneer victory, securing her fourth hat trick in six games before halftime. Hudyn leads the team with 19 goals so far this season.
