Ray earned her second East Bay Athlete of the Week honor of the season following an outstanding performance to lead the Pioneer volleyball team to a perfect 3-0 record last week. East Bay fell behind 2-1 at home to Chico State last Tuesday before winning eight consecutive sets, defeating the Wildcats in five, then sweeping Sonoma State and Humboldt State over the weekend. The team has now won six straight overall. Ray tallied 15 kills, two aces, and 23 digs against Chico State. She followed up her double-double in the comeback to hit .450 with a team-high 11 kills against the Seawolves, then hit .375 with 12 kills and 11 digs against the Jacks to round out the weekend. She averaged 3.45 kills and 3.72 digs per set while swinging to a .337 hitting percentage, adding four aces and making just eight total attack errors in three matches.
