Fukushima had a monster weekend with the bat as the Pioneer softball team opened the season in Utah. In five games at the Dixie State Classic, she went 12-for-16 and racked up 21 total bases, hitting a ridiculous .750 with a 1.313 slugging percentage. The junior had four multi-hit games, including a 4-for-5 performance against Chadron State and a 4-for-4 effort against Central Washington. She belted two home runs, hit three doubles, drew two walks, scored five runs and tallied eight RBI for the weekend. She was subsequently named CCAA Player of the Week earlier this morning.
