Navarrete was the top scorer for the men's hoops team this past week, as the Pioneers picked up two huge home victories. He had 23 points, seven rebounds, and went 10-for-16 from the floor in a 10-point victory over the Humboldt State Thursday night. Two days later, he tallied 17 points on 8-for-13 shooting and grabbed seven more boards in a thrilling overtime win over the Wildcats. It was the first victory for CSUEB over Chico since February of 2011. For the week, Navarrete averaged 20.0 points and 7.0 rebounds, shot 62 percent, and went 3-for-6 from three-point range. He has made a big impact overall in his first season for the 15-3 Pioneers, averaging 12.1 points (which ranks top-20 in the CCAA) and 6.6 rebounds (which ranks top-10), and shooting 53 percent from the field (which ranks top-5).
