Wardlow stepped up with his best game of the season on Thursday when the Pioneers needed him most. In a defensive battle against Stanislaus, the senior carried the East Bay offense, leading CSUEB to a 63-59 win in its only CCAA game of the week. Wardlow scored a season-high 21 points, going 8-for-12 from the field. He also led the team with seven rebounds, dished out four assists, and went 2-for-3 from long distance. The Pioneers played again on Saturday and beat West Coast Baptist, 103-49, in non-conference action. Wardlow was given some rest in that contest, as the CSUEB reserves got to play extended minutes and seven different Pioneers scored in double figures.
