Salvador Mendoza was a major factor in the Pioneer back line that held CCAA North Division rivals Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State to one goal in 220 minutes. Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State combined for 52 shots, but the Pioneers were able to earn a pair of ties on the road and grab two points on the weekends. Mendoza, a junior transfer from Oxnard College, put one shot on goal against the Wildcats and was instrumental in an impressive team defensive effort.
