BERKELEY, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's track and field team delivered a solid all-around performance Saturday at the Cal All Comers, recording several top finishes at Edwards Stadium.
Brevan Rohde led the way on the track, placing second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.23, while also finishing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.99).
In the field events,
Amier Hollis turned in a strong day with a pair of runner-up finishes. Hollis took second in the javelin (48.58m) and matched that placement in the high jump (1.90m). Teammate
Dapri Smith added a third-place finish in the high jump (1.87m), giving the Pioneers two podium finishers in the event.
The sprint group showed well in the short sprints, with
Mailk Hensley-Prince (6.95) and
Christian Diaz (6.99) placing fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 60-meter dash. Hensley-Prince later added a sixth-place finish in the 200 meters (22.25), followed closely by Diaz in ninth (22.42).
In the middle distances,
Matthew Morgon led the Pioneers with a fourth-place finish in both the 800 meters (1:57.07) and the 1500 meters (4:01.73). East Bay placed multiple runners in the 1500, including
Eion Daley (8th), Nicolas Bawardi (16th), and
John Funderburg (20th).
Daley also contributed a sixth-place finish in the 400 meters (51.02), rounding out a strong individual performance.
