Quintero CCAA Pitcher of the Week

Quintero's Dominance in the Circle Leads her to CCAA Pitcher of the Week Honor

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - As No. 17 Cal State East Bay softball swept five games during the 2026 D2 West Coast Challenge this past weekend to earn the crown as Tournament Champions, Marissa Quintero shined in the circle to be named the challenge's Most Outstanding PItcher. But her tournament honor was not the only one she received this week. The junior pitcher from Whitter was named FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week for February 2-8. 

Quintero went 3-0 during the D2 West Coast Challenge with 17.0 innings pitched not allowing an earned run and struck out 19 batters she faced. On Friday to open the tournament, she tossed a no-hitter in a 17-1 run-rule rout of No. 3 Western Washington. The following day, she shutout Biola was East Bay won 6-0 and the Pioneers repeated the same score on Sunday with Quintero in the circle against Colorado Mesa. 

Through six appearances, Quintero is 6-0 this season with a 0.22 earned run average and 33 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched. She has only allowed one earned run and currently is on a streak of 28.0 innings without an earned run allowed. Defensively on eight chances, she has no errors. 

This week's CCAA Pitcher of the Week honor is the fifth of its kind in Quintero's career. She received one in 2024 and three in 2025. 

On Thursday, the Pioneers will look to build off their 9-1 start with a non-conference matchup against Dominican (Calif.) in the first day of the 2026 Stan State Invitational. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. from Warrior Softball Field in Turlock.
