BERKELEY, Calif. — Cal State East Bay opened its 2026 men's track and field campaign Saturday at the Cal All Comers meet at Edwards Stadium, posting multiple top-three finishes highlighted by strong efforts in the high jump and javelin.
The Pioneers went vertial in jumps as Amier Hollis cleared 1.90 meters to place second in a mixed high jump, with teammate Dapri Smith tying for third at 1.87 meters. Hollis later added a second-place finish in the javelin at 48.58 meters, giving Cal State East Bay a pair of podium results in the throws to start the year.
On the track, Brevan Rohde opened his season in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking 43.23 seconds in an early-season tune-up race at Edwards Stadium.
Next, the Pioneers will compete at the Kim Duyst Invitational on March 6–7 at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium in Turlock, and will also be represented March 6 at the Golden Gate Track Fest at Cox Stadium in San Francisco. Entries for specific Pioneer athletes will be announced closer to competition.
