ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - For the second consecutive week, and sixth time in her career,
Marissa Quintero from Cal State East Bay softball has earned her the weekly honor of FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week following another week of stellar pitching.
As the No. 5 Pioneers went 5-0 in the Stan State Invitational to stretch their winning streak to 13 in a row, the junior from Whittier went 3-0 during the tournament tossing 19.1 innings in the circle with 15 strikeouts and only one earned run allowed. On Friday with 5.1 innings of relief pitching, Quintero allowed no runs after the Pioneers had to come back for a 6-5 win over Central Washington.
Quintero's phenomenal pitching in the Stan State Invitational also earned her a place on the All-Tournament Team.
It is the second week in a row Quintero has earned the conference's weekly honor. For her 17-inning string of performances from February 6-8 in the D2 West Coast Challenge, not only was she named the tournament's Most Outstanding Pitcher, but she received her then fifth career CCAA Pitcher of the Week honor and Wilson/NFCA DII Pitcher of the Week.
Quintero will have her first opportunity in 2026 to display her dominance in the circle drawn at Pioneer Softball Field this coming Wednesday when East Bay hosts Simon Fraser for a non-conference doubleheader.
