Cal State East Bay's Kale'a Kuamo'o has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
The senior libero helped the Pioneers to a 2-0 weekend, totaling 40 digs over seven sets while averaging 5.71 digs per set. Kale'a also added three assists and two service aces while committing just one reception error across the two matches.
Kuamo'o opened the weekend with a standout performance against Chico State, recording 27 digs in a four-set victory without committing a reception error. She also contributed two service aces as the Pioneers earned a 3-1 win.
The Keaukaha, Hawaii, native followed with 13 digs and two assists in Saturday's three-set sweep of Stanislaus State. Kuamo'o finished the weekend with 40 digs and just one reception error over seven sets.
Kuamo'o ranks fourth in the CCAA with 4.29 digs per set, while Cal State East Bay leads the conference with 16.24 digs per set as a team. Click here to see the complete CCAA leaderboard.

The two victories improved Cal State East Bay to 6-8 overall and 4-2 in CCAA play. The Pioneers sit fourth in the conference standings and will face their biggest test of the season this week when they head to No. 4 Fresno Pacific on Friday and UC Merced on Saturday.
