GAME SUMMARY

After Sonoma State took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the bottom of the second is where the Pioneers got on the scoreboard when Alonzo Guijarro scored off a sacrifice fly RBI from Sam Gilliam.

Throughout the next two innings, the Seawolves added five more runs to lead 7-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth, Brenden Bell drew a bases loaded walk, as Guijarro scored CSUEB's second run of the game.

After Sonoma State added two more runs in the top of the fifth, Danelle Daniels led off with a double in the bottom of the inning, then advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Although two outs followed, Daniels scored on another wild pitch, as the Pioneers trailed 9-3.

Play resumed in the top of the seventh inning from Sunday's suspended action, as two base runners were on, and the first two batters on Wednesday for Sonoma State walked to add to the lead. The Seawolves tacked on a total of five runs in the inning for a 14-3 lead.

Sonoma State added three more runs in the top of the eighth to lead 17-3.

In the bottom of the eighth, Alex Merchant led off with a pinch hit single, then after two strikeouts that followed, Quinn Ayres hit an RBI double to drive in Merchant.

Although the ninth inning got underway by attempt, rain halted play once again, and the game was declared complete with only the action through eight innings counting toward the season totals with Sonoma State on top 17-4 to close out the series.
