TURLOCK, Calif. – Cal State East Bay baseball traveled to Turlock Friday to start a four game CCAA series against Stanislaus State. The Warriors defeated the Pioneers 15-2 to open the series.
The Warriors got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the first inning with two runs and added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning, and one more for a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
The Pioneers cut into the Warriors lead with two runs in the top of the seventh – one on a
Brenden Bell solo home run to center field and one on a
Quinn Ayres RBI single down the left field line that drove in
Niko Mollat. Stanislaus State led 5-2.
However, in the next two innings, the Warriors combined for 10 runs, en route to a 15-2 win to open the series.
- Bell led the Pioneers' offense going 2-for-2 with his third home run of the season, ultimately reaching base three times.
- Ayres also had two hits on Friday.
