WAIPAHU, Hawaii – Cal State East Bay played day two of the Oahu Baseball Classic on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against UH Hilo, with a game one win of 12-6, followed by a historic 27-3 win in the later contest.

After trailing 3-0, the Pioneers would get on the scoreboard with two runs in the top of the third inning on an
Aidan Morton single to center field that drove in
Matthew O'Mahony and
Luke Novitske. After the Vulcans extended their lead in the bottom of the third inning, the Pioneers answered with three runs in the fourth for a 5-4 lead that would not be relinquished. The next two runs by Cal State East Bay were off the bat of
Brenden Bell, who in consecutive at-bats, hit solo home runs.
After the Vulcans were within one run in the bottom of the seventh, the Pioneers added a pair of runs in the top of the eighth for a 9-6 lead, and to finish off the game offensively, Novitske launched his second home run of the game in the top of the ninth – a three-run shot for a 12-6 lead which became the final score.
- The win went to Dwyer Lewis for the Pioneers with 6.0 innings pitched in relief with seven strikeouts.
- Novitske would lead the Pioneers' offense going 3-for-6 with three runs scored.
Cal State East Bay 27, UH Hilo 3
The Pioneers scored 11 runs in the top of the third inning and seven runs in the top of the ninth inning in a historic victory. The Pioneers also scored three runs in both the top of fifth and seventh innings. The 27 runs scored marked the most runs in Cal State East Bay's tenure as a modern CCAA member. The 27 runs are also the most runs scored by a CCAA team since 2018. The Pioneers had 26 hits on the game as well.
