HAYWARD, Calif. - At Chabot College on Friday and Saturday, the Chabot Opener took place, as Cal State East Bay women's track & field opened the 2024 season. A combination of performances in running and jumps accumulated a team score that put the Pioneers in fifth place among 16 teams, and first among two NCAA Division II teams.

FIELD EVENTS

•  In third place for the long jump was Sheelah Carey with a mark of 4.94 meters.

TRACK EVENTS

• Cal State East Bay took the top three places in the women's 1,500 meters, as Madison Gomez (4:51.01), Jenna Rodriguez (4:51.40) and Kimberly Lima Pardina (4:55.15) placed first, second and third respectively.
• Simryn Parikh finished second in the women's 400 meters, with a time of 1:00.67.
• Gomez placed third in the women's 800 meters in 2:25.83.
• In the 4x400 meter relay, Parikh, Ashley Trout, Tylar Gallien and Rodriguez won the event in 4:03.01.
