SAN FRANCISCO - Over the course of three days, Cal State East Bay men's track & field competed in multiple events at Cox Stadium during the Mike Fanelli Track Classic.
Below are some highlights for the Pioneers during the three-day meet.
- CSUEB's only runner in the 5,000 meters was Sebastian Garcia, who reached a personal best time in the distance event of 15 minutes, 52.84 seconds.
- The sprint medley relay team of Jared Giles, Mateo DiDomenico, Aaron Reyna and Ignacio Ramirez placed fourth.
- Giles competed in his first long jump with Cal State East Bay, and placed eighth with a mark of 6.43m.
- Among runners not debuting in the 800 meters at CSUEB, personal records were set by Ian Queenan (2:04.19), Guillermo Lopez (1:59.14) and Andrew Sandoval (1:58.99).
During the week of April 14, Cal State East Bay is set to have athletes compete in two possible meets - the Bryan Clay Invitational (hosted by Azusa Pacific) and the Johnny Mathis Invitational (hosted by SF State). Specific entries will be announced closer to the start of each meet.
