SAN FRANCISCO/AZUSA, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay men's track team competed in two separate meets over this past Friday and Saturday. Select athletes competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational, which took place at Azusa Pacific University, while other student-athletes participated in the Johnny Mathis Invitational on the campus of San Francisco State University.
Below are highlights from the Bryan Clay Invitational for the Pioneers.
- Chas O'Bear ran a personal best three minutes, 55.54 seconds in the 1,500 meters.
- Also with a personal best in the 1,500 meters was Aidan Singh, finishing in 3:57.69.
Personal bests were also achieved at the Johnny Mathis Invitational.
- Jared Giles had two career-best sprints, including 11.09 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.61 seconds in the 200 meters.
- Placing fourth with a personal best time of 51.56 seconds in the 400 meters was Noah Bean.
- Running the 800 meters for the fifth time this season was Andrew Sandoval, who's fastest finish of the season was completed in 1:58.08.
- Guillermo Michael Lopez was the one runner from CSUEB to compete in the 5,000 meters for at least a second time to achieve a personal best of 15:48.96.
The Pioneers have one remaining regular season meet scheduled which is the Chico State Invitational on April 21-22. Although the meet takes place over the two days, Cal State East Bay is expected to primarily participate in events on Saturday, April 22.
