DAVIS, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay women's track and field team competed in the Aggie Open on Saturday, placing sixth among 11 teams.
Below are highlights from Saturday's meet for the Pioneers.
- Melissa Jovanna Sosa reached a personal collegiate record in the 1,500 meters of four minutes, 48.31 seconds, as she placed fourth in the event.
- In a personal best of 4:50.58, placing seventh in the 1,500 meters was Kimberly Lima Pardina.
- Other top-5 finishes for running events for Cal State East Bay included fourth place in the 400 meters by Jenna Rodriguez (59.77 seconds), fifth place in the 2,000 meter steeplechase by Ariel Van Riper (7:50.59) and fourth place by the 4x400 meter relay team (4:09.68) of Simryn Parikh, Veronica Valenton, Ashley Trout and Rodriguez.
- Grace Campbell placed fourth the in the Pioneers' only field event, with a long jump mark of 5.17 meters.
The Pioneers will compete in the Mike Fanelli Track Classic from March 30-April 1. As the meet approaches, event times and participation days will become available on EastBayPioneers.com.
