DAVIS, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay men's track team competed in the Aggie Open on Saturday on the UC Davis campus. Among eight teams, the Pioneers placed fifth in team scoring. 

Below are highlights from the meet for the Pioneers. 

• Dylan Shubert placed second in the 2,000 meter steeplechase with a time of six minutes, 38.72 seconds. His finish was the highest scoring finish in the event. 
• The relay team of Noah Bean, Dylan Gong, Guillermo Lopez and Andrew Sandoval placed fourth in the 4x400 relay, finishing in 3:32.15. 
• Jared Giles had two top-5 finishes in his respective events. He placed fifth in the 200 meters in 23.22 seconds and in the 100 meters, placed fourth in 11.24 seconds. 

The Pioneers will compete in the Mike Fanelli Track Classic from March 30-April 1. As the meet approaches, event times and participation days will become available on EastBayPioneers.com.
