MONMOUTH, Ore. - The 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country West Regional Championships took place Saturday at Ash Creek Preserve on Saturday morning. Cal State East Bay women's cross country placed 19th among 24 teams in the women's 6k.
The Pioneers' top finisher was Kimberly Lima, who placed 57th among 167 runners entered in the meet. Lima completed the course in 22 minutes, 28.6 seconds.
The next four Pioneers to finish the 6k included
Jenna Rodriguez (23:36.6),
Alyssa Escay (23:42.1),
Madison Gomez (23:48.5) and
Karla Galvan (24:18.3).
Kendall Kramer from Alaska Fairbanks was the individual champion of the NCAA Division II Cross Country West Regional Women's 6k with a finish of 20:29.8. The top three teams in the regional, who automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships on November 18 included Western Washington, Biola and Chico State. Additional at-large selections for teams and individuals on teams that were not selected or automatically advancing will be announced before this coming Wednesday.
